Queen’s Park 3 completed a highly successful season by winning the North Zonal Senior Division three-day league competition. In the zonal playoffs against the East Zonal winners Bamboo Sports Club, the Parkites defeated the east zone team by one wicket in an epic encounter to gain promotion to the Premiership Division 2 in 2020.
This follows our Queen’s Park 2 team gaining promotion to Division 2 in 2020 after winning the Premiership 2 two-day league competition.
The Club’s under 19 team left for Barbados on Sunday 7th July, to take part in the Sir Garfield Sobers Under 19 International Tournament which runs over a two week period which started on Monday 8th July with the final being played on Monday 22nd July. The team will play eight qualifying games from the 8th - 12thand 15th-17th, with the semi-finals and playoff games for the lower positions being played on the 19th July.
The under 19 team was beaten in their first game on a faster run rate after rain washed out the game with QPCC batting 90/4 after 22 overs in reply to Dominica’s 215 all out in 40 overs. Darrien Dodds 3/19, Shazad Mohammed 2/17 and Giovanni Ramdenny 2/36 were the best bowlers for QPCC, while Shazad Mohammed and Giovanni Ramdenny were 28 and 27 not out respectively before play was abandoned due to rain. Their round two game is against Australia 360 team the losing finalist in the 2018 competition.
In 2019 the club’s six representative teams won seven titles in National League and Zonal competitions.
QPCC1 Premiership Division – 50 over and T20 titles.
QPCC 2 Premier 2 Division – 2 day league title and Zonal Play Off – Promotion to Premiership Division 1.
QPCC 3 North Zonal Senior Division – 3 day league title and Zonal Play – Off winners – Promotion to National League Premier 2 Division.
QPCC 1 Premiership Reserve – 2 day league title.
QPCC 2 Premiership Reserve – 35 over title.
