CHAMPIONSHIP DIVISION

The Trinidad and Tobago Hockey Board (TTHB) provides competition for all member clubs and QPCC competes in a variety of Indoor and Outdoor competitions throughout the year in the various divisions stated above.

The TTHB Outdoor League usually consists of 8 teams and is played in a round robin format consisting of 2 rounds of play that lasts approximately 6 months. The winner is the team with the most points at the end of the 2 rounds of play. A “BIG 4” competition is usually played at the end of the 1st round of play which consists of the top 4 teams in the standings at that point in time. A round robin format is taken with the team amassing the most points being crowned the BIG 4 Champion.

The TTHB Indoor Tournament runs for about 2 months and is structured differently with teams split into two groups. The top two teams in each group at the end of preliminary play will move onto the Semifinal crossover. This is followed by a 3rd place playoff and Finals.

The Senior Teams primarily train Tuesdays 7-9pm at the Woodbrook Youth Facility and Thursdays 8-10pm at Chinese Association especially during Indoor Season. When available during the Outdoor season the Senior Teams utilize the Queen’s Park Oval for sessions.

Championship Team Captain – Aidan De Gannes

Aidan transferred to QPCC from Notre Dame and immediately had an impact on the team with his balance of composure and aggression. A leader through action, Aidan has also represented the National Team a number of times, most recently at the Pan American Indoor Championships where T&T made history by winning the first ever hockey gold medal at a Pan American event while defeating Canada and Argentina also for the first time. Aidan went on to be selected for the Indoor World Cup team solidifying his position at left back and even getting on the scoresheet in one of the matches.

Championship Team Player – Shawn Lee Quay

Shawn has been a mainstay in the 1st team for a number of years and can be categorized as one of our most dedicated players. His hard work and dedication continues to pay off as his role as Centre Forward puts him as our primary goalscorer.

Player/ Coach – Darren Cowie

TEAMS

UNDER 19 & UNDER 21

These are our main Junior teams that compete in TTHB (Trinidad and Tobago Hockey Board) sanctioned competitions throughout the year with many players also involved in our Senior division teams.
